MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): Two young girls have died after falling into water well in Chak district of central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Monday.
Sibghatullah Wahaj, deputy district governor of Chak, told media that the incident occurred on Sunday in Zhol village of Araban valley.
He said one of the girls was eight years old and the other was one year old, adding that their bodies were recovered from the well with the help of local residents.
Wahaj urged residents to ensure the safety of wells in homes and agricultural lands to prevent similar incidents in the future.
