KABUL (Pajhwok): Uzbekistan’s President Special Representative for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev and Qatar’s ambassador to Tashkent Hassan Hamza Hashim have discussed issues related to Afghanistan.
In a statement, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Irgashev met Hashim on Tuesday.
It said the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation, with particular attention to expanding cooperation in trade, the economy, transport, logistics, culture and humanitarian affairs in support of Afghanistan’s sustainable development.
The Qatari envoy praised Uzbekistan’s continued efforts to support Afghanistan’s socio-economic recovery and highlighted Tashkent’s important role in promoting regional stability and development.
The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Uzbekistan-Qatar cooperation, expanding practical collaboration on regional issues and maintaining regular and constructive dialogue on matters related to Afghanistan.
