KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran has expressed readiness to expand and strengthen cooperation with Afghanistan in the oil and gas sector, laboratory establishment and other related fields, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) said.
The ministry said in a statement that its deputy minister for policy and programmes, Shaikh-ul-Hadith Abdul Rahman Qanat, met Iranian Ambassador to Afghanistan Ali Reza Bikdeli at his office on Sunday.
The two sides discussed bilateral economic cooperation, mineral resources and other issues of mutual interest, according to the statement.
Bikdeli expressed Iran’s readiness to further expand cooperation with Afghanistan, particularly in oil and gas, laboratory establishment and related areas, it said.
Qanat assured the Iranian side of the ministry’s full cooperation in implementing joint activities, the statement added.
