KABUL (Pajhwok): Director General of Olympic Committee, Physical Education and Sports Mawlawi Ahmadullah Wasiq and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Gaziz Akbasov have stressed expanding sports cooperation and creating opportunities for joint programmes, training sessions and friendly matches between athletes from the two countries.
Wasiq met with Kazakh Ambassador Gaziz Akbasov in Kabul, the General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports said in a statement.
Akbasov expressed readiness to cooperate in the sports sector and invited Afghan athletes and sports teams to visit Kazakhstan to participate in training programmes and friendly matches.
He also expressed satisfaction with the security and current situation in Afghanistan and described Kazakhstan as one of Afghanistan’s friendly countries.
He stressed the continuation of his country’s cooperation with Afghanistan in sports and pledged further assistance in this area.
For his part, Wasiq welcomed the meeting with the Kazakh ambassador and stressed the expansion of sports relations and cooperation between the two countries.
He said he had always worked to expand healthy and constructive relations with various countries and welcomed opportunities for friendly matches between Afghan and Kazakh athletes.
