KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): Authorities in southern Kandahar province have started allotting plots of land to returning refugee families under residential schemes after Pajhwok published a report about shelter problems of the returnees.
The Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, emphasized the principled treatment of Afghan refugees in Turkey and said obtaining Turkish visas are crucial to prevent illegal migration.
The Minister of Refugees and Repatriations (MoRR) has said that with the arrival of winter, the challenges facing returning refugees have increased and the situation of Afghan migrants who remain in neighboring countries is also a matter of concern.
The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) says it has inked 58 cooperation agreements worth more than 15 billion afghanis this year with national and international non-governmental organizations across the country.
The High Commission for Addressing Refugee Affairs says that around 7,061 Afghan refugees have been expelled from Iran and Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan.
