Hundreds of Afghan migrants with legal documents are returning home from Iran each day through the Islam Qala crossing in western Herat province as tensions escalate between the neighbouring country and Israel, returnees and border officials say.

The Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, emphasized the principled treatment of Afghan refugees in Turkey and said obtaining Turkish visas are crucial to prevent illegal migration.
The Minister of Refugees and Repatriations (MoRR) has said that with the arrival of winter, the challenges facing returning refugees have increased and the situation of Afghan migrants who remain in neighboring countries is also a matter of concern.
