KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Coronavirus patients in southern Kandahar province say people should consider the virus serious and adopt precautionary measures to ensure their safety.
Daud Darman, who is doctor by profession, tested positive for Covid-19 and he is currently under treatment in the 350-bed hospital in Aino Mena.
During an interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, Dr. Darman said he traveled to Quetta City of Pakistan one month earlier and some people from Herat province lived near his residence in Kandahar City, but still he could not exactly say where he infected Covid-19.
Darman completed medical studies from Kandahar University and currently works with an NGO.
He said being a physician he interacted with patients and voluntarily he agreed to conduct the tests and check-up of suspected patients of coronavirus.
He added he suffered from flue recently and considered it usual flue that happens once or twice in a year.
“First I had a sore throat, with asthma and coughing. I took some anti-biotic but my fever increased and then I contacted coronavirus branch of the Public Health Department.” He said after one day he was informed that he was positive for coronavirus.
He said a team from the health department sprayed his home and vehicle and took him to the hospital in an ambulance for treatment.
Darman said he was feeling better now and all facilities were available in the hospital. He has stopped meeting people but contact people on telephone.
