At least five people have been killed and two others injured due to roof collapse and flash floods caused by heavy rainfall in eastern Nangarhar province.

A 16-year-old boy was killed and his brother and a sister injured as a result of a mortar shell explosion in eastern Nangarhar province, police said on Sunday.

Three children have died and a fourth is in a coma after eating a poisoned watermelon in the Chawkay district of eastern Kunar province, an official said on Sunday.
