KANDAHAR (PAN): The police chief of southern Kandahar province, Brig. Gen. Khan Mohammad Mujahid, was buried in Arghandab district on Saturday, officials said.
Mujahid was killed along with two security guards by a suicide bomber in the provincial police headquarters on Friday.
About 3,000 people, including Interior Minister Bismillah Khan Mohammadi, Attorney General Mohammad Ishaq Alkoh, local officials and tribal elders, took part in Mujahid’s funeral.
The interior minister said the murder of Mujahid, who actively took part in the jihad celebrated Mujahid’s death.
