JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Fifteen Daesh or so-called Islamic State (IS) fighters were eliminated as a result of a drone strike in eastern Nangarhar province, where 13 other rebels killed in infighting, an official said on Friday.
The unmanned aerial vehicle of the foreign troops targeted on Thursday night the hideout of Daesh insurgents in the Narai Obah area of Haska Mena district, the governor’s spokesman, Ataullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Fifteen militants were killed and their weapons and ammunitions were destroyed in the airstrike, he said.
A resident of the district, Sangar Khan, confirmed the attack, but had no information about the fatalities inflicted on Daesh group.
Separately, eight IS insurgents and five Taliban rebels were perished during a clash between Taliban and Daesh group on Friday morning in the same area, he said.
