Afghan, Uzbek officials discuss boosting trade, railway links

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Acting Minister of Public Works and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan have discussed the economic and trade relations between the two countries, as well as railway connectivity.

In a post on X, the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) said that Acting Minister Mohammad Isa Sani met Uzbek Ambassador Aibak Usmanov in Kabul.

The two sides discussed the long-standing historical economic and trade ties between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, along with railway connections.

During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on the rehabilitation of the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway, the transfer of commercial goods between the two countries, and the studies for the Balkh-Herat railway.
