KABUL): A district’s administrative head was gunned down along with his son during a militant attack in the central province of Maidan Wardak on Sunday, an official said.
Chak district chief Mohammad Ismail was on his way to the office at about 8:30am when insurgents attacked him, the governor’s spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Wafa was killed on the spot while his son succumbed to his serious wounds in a helicopter that was evacuating him to a health spokesperson, Zabiullah Mujahid, said the rebel movement was behind Wafa’s killing.
