SHIBERGHAN (PAN): Five kidnapped Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were found beheaded in northern Jawzjan province, where another man was killed, an official said on Wednesday.
An ANA officer and four soldiers were found with their throats cut a day after they were kidnapped by the Taliban on their way home on leave in Khwaja Dokoh district, the town’s chief Sayra Shekib told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The troops were got down from two cars by militants and kidnapped them on Tuesday and their beheaded bodies were found on Wednesday, he said.
However, an intelligence official said six dead bodies had been found in the area, but their identities remained unknown.
In the same district, a Afghan driver with a Turkish firm was kidnapped on Tuesday by militants and was found dead on Wednesday. He was shipping merchandised goods from Aaqina port of Faryab to Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital of Balkh, when insurgents fired a rocket at his vehicle and seized him.
