TARINKOT (PAN): A pair of alleged suicide attackers died following a blast caused by their own explosives near the capital of central Uruzgan province on Sunday, police said.
The two would-be bombers were on their way to Tarinkot bazaar on a motorcycle when the explosives they carried went off in the Tori area, the city’s first police district chief, 2nd Lt. Gul Agha, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Only the pair was killed in the blast, but mutilated beyond recognition, he said, adding an investigation had been launched.
There has been no word from the Taliban about the incident.
