KANDAHAR (PAN): A roadside bomb blast in Panjwai district of southern Kandahar left four of a family dead on Wednesday, an official said.
Haji Mohammad Ishaqzai, Panjwai district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Fairoz village in the outskirts of the district when a motorbike struck a roadside bomb, leaving a man, his wife and their two children dead on the spot.
Taliban had planted landmines on roads, which resulted in the casualties of civilians, he said, adding police had started further investigation.
Governor’s spokesman Javed Faisal, blamed insurgents on planting landmines on public roads who said an operation was launched for clearing local roads to prevent further casualties.
