KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Public Health Department officials on Saturday set afire expired and low quality medicines weighing 65 tonnes in southern Kandahar province.
Public Health Director Abdul Qayum Pukhla told Pajhwok Afghan News the medicines torched had been collected from various medical stories and companies during the past two months in Kandahar.
He said the medicines worth more than three million afghanis were either expired or had a very low quality, thus injurious to health.
The health official said they had time and again warned medical store owners and firms to avoid selling and importing expired and low quality drugs.
