KABUL in the shortest possible time, an envoy has said.
Ambassador Janan Mosazai referred to a three-way agreement involving the UN on the voluntary, dignified and gradual return of Afghan refugees from Pakistan.
Speaking to reporters in Pakistan’s port city of Karachi on Saturday, he said the Afghan government had welcomed five million of its refugees from Pakistan and Iran since 2002.
“The fabric of the Afghan society to encourage their return,” remarked the diplomat.
On Friday, he met Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and thanked him for hosting a large number of Afghans with generosity for so many decades.
Kabul and Islamabad were focused on cooperation in forging a common narrative against extremism and terrorism, he said. “There is close engagement between us to counter this menace…”
