ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Two militants have been killed in a drone strike while another school was torched by rebels in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said Wednesday.
Kunar police Chief Brig Gen. Abdul Habib Sayedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News two Taliban commanders of Khurasan group were killed in a drone strike in Khas Kunar district last night.
He said that civilians suffered no casualties in the attack.
Separately, militants set a school on fire in Dangam district of Kunar on Tuesday night. Sayedkhel said the girls’ primary school was completely damaged.
A resident of the area Hazrat Mohammad said that the school was located in the Sawoon locality. The damaged to the educational institution had deprived hundreds of children from education.
But a Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said militants were not involved in the incident. The school was torched as a result of internal differences among local residents, he claimed.
A week ago, a school and a health clinic were blown up and destroyed in Nari district of Kunar.
