KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): The governor has once again suspended salaries to what an official said on Wednesday “ghost teachers” in the Maroof district of southern Kandahar province.
The move comes days after a Pajhwok Afghan News report based on people’s complaints said “there is no school in Maroof district and salaries in the name of dozens of teachers go to private pockets.”
Kandahar governor’s spokesman, Samim Khpalawak, told Pajhwok Afghan News Governor Dr. Mohammad Humayun Azizi made the decision during a meeting with the Youth Consultative Board at the Governor’s House.
