QALAT (Pajhwok): The first polio case in southern Zabul province and sixth in Afghanistan during the current year has surfaced in Arghandab district, an official said on Thursday.
Public Health Director Dr. Lal Mohammad Tokhi told Pajhwok Afghan News a four years old boy tested positive for polio despite being administered the required vaccine.
A delegation from Kandahar is investigating the case. He promised a special vaccination campaign would be conducted in Arghandab in the near future.
