ZARANJ (Pajhwok): A malnutrition treatment center (MTC) has been established at the civil hospital in Zaranj, the capital of southwestern Nimroz province, home to more malnourished children than other provinces.
Dr. Khusraw Yousafzai, the provincial public health director, said statistics compiled by a non-government organization showed malnourished children were in highest number in Nimroz.
He said about 13.9 percent children in Nimroz were underweight and the highest number could be blamed on misappropriation of foods meant for malnourished children in the past.
