HIA accuses govt of not honoring peace agreement

KABUL (HIA) has accused the government over delaying tactic in the release of the group’s prisoners and not fully implementing the peace agreement.

Abdul Hai Faqiri, head of the HIA Judicial Commission, assured that some HIA prisoners would be freed soon and returned to their homes.

He expressed the view on the occasion of distributing winter clothes to the prisoners.

Faqiri said some circles within and outside the government tried to prevent the full implementation of peace deal between the government and HIA thus the release of prisoners had been delayed.

He alleged the government did not release all HIA prisoners after two-months of the agreement but arrested and harassed other HIA members.

Atiqullah Safi, head of the Refugees’ Commission, said they were hopeful to the future as he expressed optimism.

He said HIA Amir Gulbaddin Hekmatyar had been striving to make sure the release of HIA prisoners.

He added with the help of some businessmen, winter clothes had been distributed among prisoners.
