PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): The level of drought has decreased due to recent rainfalls in northern Baghlan province where farmers can use seeds that require more water, agriculture officials say.
Abdul Wahab Khairzada, provincial agriculture department head, told Pajhwok Afghan News they had stopped cultivation of rice due to the lack of snowfall in winter season.
“Lack of snowfall in mountains led to water shortage that forced farmers to ignore growing rice in rain-fed farms,” he said.
