Twin attacks in eastern Nangarhar province resulted in more than 50 deaths in violation of the Eid truce the first in Afghanistan’s long war.
Dr. Yousef Al Othaimeen, the OIC secretary-general, condemned the ceasefire breaches and called on all parties to respect the extended truce, according to WAM.
While supporting to the unilateral extension of the ceasefire by President Ghani, he renewed OIC’s appeal to all parties and the international community to redouble efforts to make the ceasefire permanent.
