President Ashraf Ghani met with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and a high delegation she led in Kabul, a statement from the Presidential Palace media’s office said.
The statement said the two sides discussed bilateral relations, the Afghan led and owned peace process, ceasefire, the fight against terrorism, security and the upcoming elections.
The Croatian president said she has a special love for Afghanistan and reaffirmed her country’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan in areas of economy, health care, development projects and culture under the NATO’s Resolute Support Mission.
During the meeting, she invited President Ghani along with his economy and private sector teams to visit her country (Croatia) in near future.
President Ghani during the meeting welcomed the Croatian President in Kabul and thanked troops from her country for assisting the Afghan forces as part of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission. He thanked her for inviting him to visit her county.
The Croatian troops are based in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province.
