TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A new polio case has been detected in the Charchino district of central Uruzgan province, taking the number of total polio cases to 18 nationwide this year, an official said on Wednesday.
The poliovirus was diagnosed in a three-year-old boy named Rahmatullah in Korak village of the district, said Uruzgan public health direct Dr. Khan Agha Miakhel.
He said Rahmatullah’s family had been opposed to anti-polio vaccination. A health team has reached the Korak village.
