ASADABAD (Pajhwok): New contracts have been issued and construction of three incomplete school buildings resumed in eastern Kunar province after a Pajhwok report about the issue, an official said Wednesday.
Contracting companies had disappeared into thin air, leaving incomplete construction work on 13 schools in the province, Pajhwok Afghan News had reliably learnt.
Contracts for construction of 14 schools were awarded between 2007 and 2012 years, with several firms receiving a lot of funds. But the companies did not complete construction works.
