KABUL has not come as a surprise, the Indian foreign minister said on Monday.
After 18 months of negotiations, the US and the Taliban inked the long-awaited agreement in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Saturday.
Everyone knew what would happen, S Jaishankar said, adding his country would closely monitor the situation emerging the deal signing.
"What we saw in Doha was not a surprise. It was almost like watching Pakeezah (an Indian movie) after seeing the trailers," the minister remarked.
