KABUL (Pajhwok): The economic growth of the country will experience a three percent drop this year compared to last year’ growth due the outbreak of coronavirus, Economy Minister Mustafa Mastoor has said.
Addressing an international conference on Sustainable Development Goals and Negative Impact of Coronavirus, he said that economic condition of the country, poverty, unemployment and trade deficient would be under massive pressure this year due to effects of coronavirus.
Separately, according to a report published by independent organization said that 60% of the world. According to the agency, 98% of the population with malnutrition lives in developing countries.
It also reports that related deaths from starvation in the world are higher than the total deaths from AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis.
Last year, 130 million people worldwide suffered from acute food shortages, but the prevalence of coronavirus has more than doubled.
The coronavirus crisis, along with other health and economic problems, has disrupted the food chain in many parts of the world.
