Afghanistan’s coronavirus tally hits 20,342

KABUL in the past 24 hours.

Wahidullah Majrooh, deputy spokesman for MoPH, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the new cases were confirmed from amongst 1,427 suspected patients.

He said the number of people infected with the coronavirus in Afghanistan had spiked to 20,342. At least 30 people died and 45 recovered in the past 24 hours.

The virus has so far killed 357 people in the country, where 1,875 others have recovered from the pandemic as of Sunday.  

On Saturday, Ahmad Jawad Osmani, the acting minister of public health, told reporters the fight against the coronavirus was a priority for the ministry,

He urged citizens to follow health tips to prevent the coronavirus from further spreading in the impoverished country.
