Ghoryani vows to promote trade, ensure transparency

KABUL or lower house of the parliament and pledged to ensure transparency and appoint qualified persons.

According to the Wolesi Jirga decision, voting for 10 ministers-designate was planned this Thursday, but due to holiday on Thursday the voting process was delayed till Saturday.

Minister-designate for Commerce and Industries

Nisar Ahmad Ghoryan, minister designate for Commerce and Trade said that the spread of coronavirus faced trade and business with challenges but he would try to expand trade through air-corridors and land routes.

He said increase in export, simplifying procedures of different affairs in the ministry, provision of transit facilities, improving private sector and the creation of markets for the promotion of local products were his plans in the ministry and added special strategies would be made for the above agenda.

He said he was aware of the challenges faced by industrialist since he himself is an industrialist and vowed to resolve the problems faced by traders and businessmen through programs he planned.

Ghoryani vowed to the Wolesi Jirga members that he would ensure transparency in the ministry and related matters.

Referring to the export of carpets under Afghanistan’s label, he said strategy to encourage carpet industry was being worked out.

A special Consultation Centre would be established that would help investor where they could invest to promote local industry and products.

Masuma Khawari, minister designate for MCIT

Khwari while presenting her plans to the lower house, said that she would work for transparency in MCIT and employ qualified in the ministry.

She said that finalizing laws, following projects under implementation, reducing prices and improving the capacity of internet, registering SIM cards, promoting digital economy, empowering digital industry, brining reforms and building capacity are part of her plans.

Bashir Ahmad Tayanj, minister designate for MoLSA

Bashir Ahmad Tayanj said that he would create regulation for vocational and technical education, creating a policy for child labor.

He said that the regulation for sending workers to abroad has been prepared and 15 countries demand workers. So far, we signed MoUs with six countries for sending them workers, he added.

Tayanj said that creating jobs would be one of important part of his plans and would try to provide technical and vocation training facilities to workers to cope with the market’s demand.

Mohammad Qasim Halimi, minister designate for MoHIA

Mohammad Qasim Halimi said that if he received vote of confidence, meritocracy would be his priority in his administration.

He said that he would determine the exact number of all registered and unregistered mosques in the country and would also set a rule for the education level of Imams.

Halimi said that creating guidance centers for women, launching a TV channel of Islamic teachings, improving coordination between Hanafi and Jaafari laws, increasing Imams and empower religious centers of security organs are his other plans.

“We do not want prisons turn to a center for production of terrorists, we want them to be correction centers, Islamic scholars are responsible to provide awareness in this regard, because those who commit crimes do not know about Islam,” he said.

He said that based on the Fatwa, war is forbidden in Afghanistan.
