Water Authority, AKDN sign MoU on water management

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Agha Khan Development Network (AKDN) and National Water Management Authority (NWMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on matters related to water management and technical cooperation, a statement said on Friday.

At the signing ceremony Eng. Wais Baseer, technical assistant head of the NWMA, Shaharzad Hergi, representative of the AKDN, Shadman Haji Baigove, executive head of the AKDN, Water Resources Head Eng. Faezurrahman and representative of other ministries and national institutions participated.

Eng. Baseer thanked the AKDN for its uplift scheme carried out in parts of the country and stressed over coordination and cooperation in the future.

The AKDN Executive Head Shadman Haji Baikove talked about technical cooperation and implementation of different programmes between the two institutions and added with the signing of this MoU technical cooperation between the two organization would be expanded and the water management would be more strengthened.

According to the signed MoU the two sides would work for empowerment of water management related projects, share information on flood, drought, glaciers and technical research on water resources.
