KABUL (Pajhwok): The High National Reconciliation Council (HNRC) on Friday remembered Dr. Nakamura services to Afghanistan in the area of water management other vital development projects.
Dr. Nakamura implemented hundreds of agriculture, irrigation, farming and other development projects in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces but some of his project that he dreamed for remained uncompleted after he was killed in an armed attack last year in December.
The assault took place on 4th December morning when unidentified gunmen opened fire at Nakamura’s vehicle. The NGO chief came under attack on his way to inspect a project
Dr. Nakamura’s driver and four of his bodyguards were killed in the shooting as the gunmen managed to flee the areas.
Dr. Nakamura always stressed over peaceful life and told people to deny war because was is destruction.
A statement from the HNRC said that Dr. Nakamura offered unforgettable services to Afghanistan in agriculture and water irrigation sector. He managed some water of Kunar River, greened some areas of Khaiwa and Kama district with his sincere efforts.
“The late doctor took some dream of water management with himself to the grave. People will never forget his services and would be remembered in the history.”
The HNRC said that concerned authorities in the country would follow the strategy and plan of Dr. Nakamura in the area of agriculture and water management.
Dr. Nakamura’s killing draw nation and world-wide condemnation. He was honored by high civilians awards by Afghanistan, Japan and India for his services.
