KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul police arrested on Sunday the son of lawmaker Allah Gul Mujahid with an armored vehicle without a number plate and an unlicensed Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Ajmal Ahmadzai, police head for Kabul’s 12th police district, said on Sunday the MP’s son and his security guard were detained on Saturday when they opened fire on police during a search.
He said police searched the detainees’ documents and asked them to remove their vehicle’s tinted glasses. In response, they allegedly fired at the policemen — an act that led to their arrest.
The official said there were three people in the vehicle, but one managed to escape. The detainees were handed over to the Kabul Police Investigation Department.
Pajhwok shared the matter with Kabul police and Allah Gul Mujahid, but they have not yet responded.
