PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Afghanistan has evinced a keen interest in utilising the Gwadar Port in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan’s province.

Visiting Afghan Minister of Commerce and Industry Nisar Ahmad, at a meeting with Pakistan’s Maritime Affairs Minister Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, said his country wanted to use the port.

The two sides discussed ways of boosting bilateral trade and enhancing cooperation through the utilisation of Pakistan’s ports by the neighbour.

Zaidi said Pakistan desired to reach the Central Asian markets via Afghanistan. He also referred to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of improving relations with Kabul.
