KABUL (Pajhwok): Indonesia President JokoWododo on Tuesday pledged his support for the Afghan peace process and vowed continued efforts for international consensus among scholars in this regard.
President Ashraf Ghani held a telephonic conversation with his Indonesian counterpart JokoWododo today morning, his office said in a statement.
It said both sides discussed the Afghan peace process, which was Afghan-owned and Afghan-led and stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in Afghanistan.
Referring to regional and international support for the Afghan peace process, JokoWododo promised his country’s cooperation in developing lasting international consensus of scholars.
Both sides also talked about expansion of economic and trade cooperation between Kabul and Jakarta, the statement concluded.
