KABUL (Pajhwok): Turkmenistan’s foreign minister is due in Kabul next week to attend the inauguration of three joint projects.
Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar had a telephonic conversation with his Turkmen counterpart Raşit Meredow on Tuesday.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said the two sides discussed issues around bilateral relations.
It added the two sides also discussed the opening ceremonies of three projects due to be inaugurated on the 14th of the current month.
During his trip, the foreign minister of Turkmenistan will meet President Ashraf Ghani, Atmar and National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib.
The Akina-Andkhoi railway line, Kerki-Andkhoi-Puli Khumri power project and the fibre optic cable extending internet connection from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan will be inaugurated during Meredow’s trip.
Several Memorandums of Understandings on political consultation, agriculture quarantine, security and protocol and an gas and oil will be signed.
