LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): One security officer has been killed and 15 others wounded when a car bomb targeted National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel in southern Helmand province.
A security official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News the car bomb hit an NDS personnel pick-up in Mukhtar area of Lashkargah City at around 7:00pm on Sunday night.
The source declined to provide more details.
But another source said one security officer was killed and 15 others wounded in the bombing.
Provincial security officials refused to comment on the bombing.
Noorullah, a resident of the area, said: “The explosion was powerful and it jolted our homes.”
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
