7 more Afghans lose battle for life to Covid-19

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Saturday said 106 new positive Covid-19 cases were registered in the last 24 hours in the country.

The ministry in a statement said 1,202 people underwent tests since Saturday and the virus was detected in 106 people, pushing the overall tally to 53,690.

The source said 40 cases were detected in Nangarhar, 13 in Laghman, 12 in Herat, nine each in Helmand, in Kunar, seven in  Kabul, six in Paktia, four in Kandahar, two each in Balkh, Kunduz and one each in Baghlan and Nimroz provinces.

At least 472 individuals recovered from the pandemic during the period, taking the recoveries to 44,608 and seven people lost their lives to the virus, taking the total death toll to 2,308.
