KABUL (Pajhwok): Indian National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Kumar Doval on Wednesday arrived in Kabul and discussed joint counterterrorism efforts and the Afghan peace process with Afghan officials.
A statement from Afghanistan National Security Council said Doval met with his Afghan counterpart Hamdullah Mohib this noon at the latter’s office.
Both sides discussed strategic issues, joint efforts against terrorism and strengthening the Afghan peace process, the statement said.
On the other hand, Seddiq Seddiqi, spokesman for the president, said that the Indian NSA also met with President Ashraf Ghani in his office today afternoon.
Both sides talked about counterterrorism and regional consensus for the Afghan peace process.
President Ghani during the meeting said that both countries in cooperation with the US and NATO would defeat terrorism in their territories.
Ajit Kumar Doval said his country would continue its cooperation with Afghanistan.
