KABUL (Pajhwok): Head of the National Security Council Hamdullah Mohib on Sunday said 600 released Taliban had been arrested by government and claimed the Taliban were preparing for conflict not for peace.
Addressing a meeting in the Air Force Corps in Kabul Mohib said despite the fact that the Taliban pledged reduction in violence in their Doha accord but the ongoing winter season proved to be full of violence and conflict comparing to the past winter seasons.
Referring to the Afghan government commitment for peace, Mohib said: “The release of 5,000 Taliban yields no benefit to peace and the 600 released Taliban had been arrested again by our forces.”
He renewed government commitment the more Taliban will never be freed at any cost.
NDS Chief Zia Seraj welcomed the creation of Air Force Corps and added this will help Special Forces during their operations.
