Flour, gold, fuel prices dipped in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of flour, gold, firewood and fuel have dipped while that of ghee increased during the outgoing week in capital Kabul, market sources said Saturday.

Mohammad Hussain, a wholesaler in Kabul’s Mandavi Market, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the price of a 49 kilograms bag of flour downed from 1,700 Afghanis to 1,650 Afghanis this week.

However, he said that the price of a tin of 16 liters of Malaysian ghee increased from 1,450afs to 1,500afs due to low import and high demand.

Hussain added that the price of 24kg of Pakistani rice was 2,400afs, 49kg of Indian sugar 2,250afs, a kilogram of green Indonesian tea 320afs and the same quantity of African black tea on 320afs, same as last week’s.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in Dahn-i-Bagh locality, said that the price of 49kg of Kazakh flour was 1,750afs, 50kg of Indian sugar 2,300afs, 24kg of Pakistani rice 2,450afs, 16 liters of Malaysian ghee 1,550afs, a kilogramo f Indonesian green tea 330afs and the same quantity of African black tea 350afs, higher than wholesale rates.

The prices of firewood and fuel also declined this week.

A worker of Hashemi Fuel Station in Taimani Square in Kabul city, said that the price of a liter of diesel was declined from 46afs to 45afs. However, he said that the rate of the same quantity of petrol stayed at 40afs.

Mohammad Sharif, a gas seller in Kolola Pushta area of Kabul, said that the price of one kilogram of gas was 55afs.

Qudratullah, a firewood seller in Charahi Shahid area of Kabul said that the price of 560kg of oak was decreased from 8,400afs to 8,000afs, the same quantity of cedar was decreased from 8,400afs to 7,900afs. He added that the price of a ton of coal was decreased from 7,000afs to 6,500afs.

Mohammad Javid, a jweller in Lycee Maryam area of Kabul, said that the price of one gram of Arabian gold reduced from 3,750afs to 3,650afs and the same quantity of Russian variety from 3,800afs to 2,650afs.
