PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Taliban militants killed one uprising force member and captured seven others during an attack in the Mohammad Agha district of central Logar province.
A security source, who wished anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Taliban insurgents stormed a check-post of uprising fighters in Surkhab area of Mohammad Agha district last night.
“Taliban seized seven Kalashnikovs, a rocket launcher, two machine guns and several ammunitions from the uprising force,” the source said.
A local resident, Jamshid, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Taliban and uprising forces clashed on Saturday night.
He said the Taliban captured the uprising fighters’ check-post and some fighters and ammunition.
Taliban confirmed the clash. The group spokesman, ZabihullahMujahid, said that the Taliban stormed a check-post of uprising fighters in Surkhab area of MohammadAgha district.
He said one uprising fighter was killed and seven others arrested. The rebels also confiscated 12 heavy and light weapons.
