FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): A mother and her two sons have been serving in police force since her third son was killed while defending the motherland serve in western Ghor province.

Parigul, a resident of the provincial capital, Firozkoh, urged the insurgents to announce violence and killing innocent people.

She participated in a gathering marking the national day for support of security and defense forces on Saturday here.

The mother, wearing military uniform, told Pajhwok Afghan News she had been working in National Police for ten years and she was a proud lieutenant.

She lost a son who served in security forces ranks and her two other sons are still serving in security sector.

Parigul, a caretaker of her widowed daughter-in-law and two orphaned grandchildren, said: “I am proud of my son who lost his life while defending Afghanistan.”

However, she said war was not a solution to the Afghanistan problem.

Parigul said if Taliban wanted peace, security forces were ready to lay down their weapons and maintain peace with them but if not, security forces would fight them until their last breath.

She urged the Taliban to come to peace terms with the Afghan government.

“I lost my son to the war, now I have to take care of his widow and orphans and similarly Taliban also have widows and orphans who need to be taken care of. We have to stop killing each other and live a comfortable life”.

She hoped women of the country would continue serving in security forces after peace was established.

Today Ghor residents wore military uniforms to support Afghan security and defense forces and presented flower bouquets to members of the government forces.

Ghor police chief Abdul QaderWalizada in the ceremony celebrating the National Day in support of security in defense forces hailed the efforts of the forces and considered females’ role as important.

“We could not have accomplished important missions without female participation because male police cannot search households or females without female personnel”.

He added that female members of security personnel served in provinces where Taliban had extensive presence but they served knowing the threats to their lives.
