BAMYAN (Pajhwok): Some social media activists claim a health worker in central Bamyan province died after being administered coronavirus vaccine, but officials say the reason behind the death is not yet identified and investigation in this regard is underway.

According to Pajhowk Afghan News report, the process of coronavirus vaccine administration kicked off in Afghanistan on February 23 in Kabul and subsequently extended to other parts of the country.

Claim: A health worker in Bamyan dies after getting coronavirus vaccine.

A local media outlet reported that a health worker in central Bamyan province died after being given coronavirus vaccine.

Shafqnan, another local media outlet reported this news and added: “Local health officials say a health worker in Bamyan province died after he was administered coronavirus vaccine.”

Nishana News reported: “Local health officials in Bamyan acknowledged that one of their health workers died hours after being injected coronavirus vaccine.”

Mohammad Anwar Saadatyar, on his facebook page wrote: “Some sources in Bamyan Hospital say one of their health workers died after he was administered coronavirus.”

Fact Check:

The Bamyan Public Health Department officials did not agree to comment in this regard, but one of the employees of the Bamyan Provincial Hospital, wishing not to be named, said the deceased ZakriaAhmadi hailed from the SarAsyab village of Bamyan city.

The source said Zakria, 25, was a health worker and he was suffering from blood pressure and heart disease.

Zakria was administered vaccine on Sunday and he was brought to the hospital today (Monday) but he lost his life in the hospital. The source added the reason of Zakria death could not be ascertained as yet.

Governor Spokesperson Abdul LatifAzeemi also said the reason behind the death of Zakria could not be ascertained. He was suffering from blood pressure and heart disease.

He added doctors had launched investigation in this regard and would be shared with the media after completion.

He said: “We cannot say anything until investigation is completed.”

According to a report, coronavirus vaccine has no side-effects.

British experts found that the vaccine had no side-effect. Their experiment is based on the administration of vaccine to 40,000 health workers who received coronavirus vaccine and made it sure that it has no side-effect.

Conclusion: The death of health worker from coronavirus vaccine is an unproven claim because it has not been proven by health officials as yet
