PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Britain high commissioner and Pakistan’s army chief have exchanged views in the Afghan peace process.

Christian Turner called on Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The overall regional security situation also came under discussion at the meeting, according to a statement from the army’s media wing, which gave no further details.

Also on Monday, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad met President Ashraf Ghani and High Council for National Reconciliation Chairman Dr. Abdullah.

Pakistan claims having played a constructive role in facilitating the Afghan peace process. It has been supporting a political settlement to the war across the Durand Line.
