KABUL (Pajhwok): Sixty-two new coronavirus cases were registered in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, showing a sudden surge in the cases after weeks, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Monday.
A total of 1,824 samples were brought to different laboratories nation-wide, with 62 people testing positive, taking the national tally to 56,384.
Of the new cases, 33 were detected in Nangarhar, 13 in Kandahar, six in Kabul, five in Kunar, two each in Balkh and Laghman and one in MaidanWardak province.
