14 security men, uprising forces killed in violence

JALALABAD/KUNDUZ (Pajhwok): Two separate but near simultaneous bomb blasts and a Taliban attack left 14 security personnel and uprising members dead in Nangarhar, Takhar and Logar provinces on Saturday.

A reliable source in eastern Nangarhar, wishing anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News a police vehicle hit a roadside bomb on Saturday morning in Jalalabad city’s eighth police district.

The blast killed three public order police and burned their bodies.

A doctor at Jalalabad zonal hospital told Pajhwok Afghan News two bodies of security personnel and a wounded civilian had been delivered to their hospital.

Separately in Logar province, three Afghan National Army (ANA) personnel were killed and a fourth wounded as a result of a blast on Saturday morning.

Similarly eight public uprising force personnel have been killed in a Taliban attack in northeastern Takhar province.

A security source wishing anonymity said eight public uprising personnel were killed in the attack in Jashma Bangi area of Bangi district.

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.
