KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Examination Authority of Afghanistan (NEXA) has announced starting the university entrance test or Kankor on April 28.
“The Kankor examinations for the solar year 1400 would begin on Sawr (Solar month) 08 and continue till mid Jawza,” Abdul QadirKhamosh, acting director of the authority, told a press conference in Kabul.
He said about 210,000 students were expected to sit the exam, which would be held in three rounds.
First round of the examination would be launched on Sawr 08 and continue for three days in 25 provinces including, Samangan, Sar-i-Pul, Ghor, Nimroz, Badghis, Farah, Nooristan, Paktika, Daikundi, Zabul, Urozgan, Helmand, Kandahar, Bamiyan, MaidanWardak, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Kapisa, Panjshir, Laghman, Kunar, Parwan, Nangarhar and Baghlan.
The second round would be launched either on Sawr 30 or 31st in eight provinces including Faryab, Kunduz, Jawzjan, Ghazni, Balkh, Herat, Takhar and five zones of Badakhshan province (Faizabad, Baharak, Darwaz, Khwahan and Shighnan).
Similarly, third round would include districts and capital of Kabul province.
Khamosh added Kabul’s Kankor examination would be held on Jawza 14th.
According to him, 43,000 of the overall participants of the examination would be enrolled in public sector Universities and Institutes.
He said 72,000 students would be referred to Universities, over 30,000 to higher education institutes, around 6,800 to vocational institutes, 22,00 to religious studies and more than 10,000 students to evening shifts of Universities.
