6 people die from Covid-19 in 24 hours

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Tuesday said 234 new positive Covid-19 cases were registered in the last 24 hours in the country.

The ministry in a statement said 2,078 people underwent tests since Saturday and the virus was detected in 234 people, pushing the overall tally to 60,797.

It said 81 cases were detected in Nangarhar, 31 in Kabul, 24 in Kandahar, 23 in Balkh , 14 in Paktia, 13 in Ghazni, 12 in Helmand, 11 in Nimroz, 7 in MiadanWardak, 4 each in Kunar, Zabul, 2 each in Kunduz, Badakhshan, Parwan and one each in Paktika and Takhar provinces.

At least 123 individuals recovered, taking the recoveries to 53,693 and six people lost their lives to the virus during the period, with the total death toll reaching 2,654.
